What Spolytics is
Spolytics is a research site that estimates the probability of sports outcomes by running public sports data through statistical models. It computes win, scoreline, and player stat line probabilities for baseball, basketball, football, soccer, and esports, and publishes both the method and the track record behind those numbers.
It publishes no odds, lines, or spreads and has no affiliation with any sportsbook. There is no way to place or settle a wager here.
Who runs it
I built this for one reason: plenty of places publish probabilities, almost none of them grade those probabilities in public. If a number says 60%, then roughly 60 out of 100 such games should actually finish that way. So every prediction here is locked before the game starts, scored with a Brier score once the result is in, and published either way — the good weeks and the bad ones.
Selling model probabilities or odds was never the point, so there are no odds, lines, or spreads here at all. How the models compute a number is on the methodology page; how well those numbers have actually done is in the validation report, unedited.
